Why Brett Favre Will play for the Vikings in the 2010 season?

Why Brett Favre Will play for the Vikings in the 2010 season?

After making several costly errors in the NFC championship game Saturday night in the Super Dome at New Orleans, Brett Favre fell short of going to compete in his 3rd super bowl. Favre made back to back Super bowls in 1997 and 1998. Winning in 1997 against the New England Patriots and losing in 1998 to the Denver Broncos.

The NFC Championship game was the most entertaining and best post season game of the season, even though their were some costly mistakes. Favre, who threw 2 interceptions in the game, threw one within the last 20 seconds of regulation losing all hope for the Vikings long attempt at a game winning field goal. Instead the Vikings and Saints went into over time and the Saints pulled off the defeat.

Although, Favre through several interceptions in the last game of the season for the Minnesota Vikings, he still played a great performance game throwing a touchdown pass and over 300 yards. The Minnesota Vikings had 5 turnovers as a team and 2 fumbles within the red zone. If they could have put 3 points on the board instead of one of the turnovers inside of field goal range, they would have had several opportunities to win the game before going into overtime (, even though the turnovers changed the whole perspective of the game).

Brett Favre has played for 19 NFL seasons and is 40 years old. Brett Favre is playing at the best level of his career and has 18 straight seasons with 3000 plus yards per season. This past NFL season Favre had a 107.2 passer rating, which was the best of his career. He threw for 33 touchdowns and only had 7 interceptions in the regular season. That is the least amount of interceptions in a single season Favre has ever thrown with 13 as his previous best. He has only thrown more than 33 touchdowns in a single season 3 times out of his 19 year career. His 262.6 yards per game average this season has only been beat twice by himself prior to this season and his 7.9 yards average is the best of his career.

Brett Favre is playing on the best team offensive and defensive wise since he played for the Green Bay Packers prior to 2000. Favre is more focused and is playing better than guys 10 and 20 years younger than him. Although, Brett Favre may be close to ranking number one of all time and even above Joe Montana, there are several reasons why he will return for one more season in Minnesota.

It’s not only because he is playing the best level of his career or because he has passion and love for the game. Brett Favre will return for another NFL season in Minnesota to set his milestone marker. As long as he is completely healthy he will play every game of his 20th NFL season, but if he isn’t he will break several records first. He will break the 500 mark for most touchdowns thrown in a career, which he is currently 3 touchdowns shy of sitting at 497. He also will break the 70,000 passing yards mark, which he is only 671 yards of accomplishing sitting at 69,329.

Brett Favre has extreme passion for the game and can be considered the greatest quarterback of all time. He is playing at the best of his career and will play for the Minnesota Vikings in this upcoming NFL season. Favre doesn’t care so much about the numbers, as the fans do, but he will play at least 3 NFL regular season games. If he remains healthy, which he will, he will be ready to be at the top of the NFC and NFL again!
